With news of The Last of Us Re-mastered coming to PlayStation 4 this summer, its time for the third and final pack of downloadable content for Season Pass holders to be introduced, bringing a new difficulty mode, maps, gear and survival skills, Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli revealed yesterday on the PlayStation Blog.
Each of the four separately priced packs will be free to those who’ve purchased the game’s Season Pass.
The $4.99 Grounded Mode DLC will introduce Grounded Mode to the campaign, where the “AI is relentless, smart and brutal, and survival will be near impossible,” Monacelli wrote. Also, a $5.99 bundle will add new guns and skills, including a silenced assault rifle, a weapon that fires explosives like a potato gun, a double-barrel shotgun and more
The $9.99 Reclaimed Territories Map Pack will include four new maps: Wharf, which is set in the docks where Joel meets Robert; Capitol, set in Boston; Coal Mine, set in Colorado; and Water Tower, set in Lincoln, Pennsylvania.
Two $3.99 Survival Skills bundles, Situational Survival Skills and Professional Survival Skills, unlock faster and quieter movement speed, automatic ammo pickups, bombs that explode faster and more.
All players will also receive the Full-Auto Rifle for free.
Also the Re-Mastered version coming to PS4 this summer might be offered a discount to those who own the PlayStation 3 version.
The Last of Us: Remastered will include the campaign and the post-apocalyptic game’s downloadable content. In response to a question on the European PlayStation Blog yesterday asking if those who purchased the PS3 version and its Season Pass might get a discount, Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli said that the developer is still determining pricing.
“We’re looking into the business model for all this,” he wrote, “and will post about this once we have input from all regions.”
