EA reveal release windows for upcoming games

Thanks to EA’s release of thier schedule for the 2015 fiscal year, two major upcoming games, EA Maxis’ The Sims 4 and EA Tiburon’s next golf title, now have some release windows.

The Sims 4, which was delayed to late 2014 last October, is scheduled to be released on PC during the second quarter of EA’s 2015 fiscal year. That would put the game’s launch somewhere from July through to September 2014. The other main EA titles set to be released during that quarter are Madden NFL 15, NHL 15 and FIFA 15. EA’s third fiscal quarter, which runs from October through to December, will include NBA Live 15, Dragon Age: Inquisition, which is set to come out October 7th, and an unannounced console title running on the Frostbite 3 engine that will be revealed at EA’s presentation at this year’s E3.

Last October, EA had announced the end of its relationship with Tiger Woods for the publisher’s series of golf games, and indicated that the franchise would continue without him on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. EA is going to be skipping this year, but the company’s next golf game — the new name of which has yet to be revealed — is scheduled to be released between January to March 2015; the last few Tiger Woods titles were released at the end of March, just before the Masters Tournament.

Electronic Arts will also not release a Need for Speed title in 2014, with company CEO Andrew Wilson citing the need to “ensure we’re delivering a high-quality experience for Need for Speed players next year,” according to the company’s fourth quarter earnings call.
