It is no doubt that Grand Theft Auto V is a great game, and we know that a lot of us have been waiting for one particular mode to come to the online side of the game, The Hipster pack!… what no? Oh the Heist missions. Well unfortunately it seems that the addition of Heists to Grand Theft Auto Online has been delayed again, said Grand Theft Auto 5 publisher Rockstar Games in a comment on the Rockstar Newswire yesterday.
Now if your not sure what Heists are, they are the focal missions of the single-player story in Grand Theft Auto 5; six full heists take place during the game, along with the botched one in the prologue. Last December, Rockstar said it planned to add Heists to GTA Online sometime in 2014. In early April, the company then said Heists were coming as part of a set of GTA Online updates scheduled to be released in the spring. Now Spring astronomically ends this Saturday (21st June), so it now appears that Heists will miss that window.
“We know many fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Online Heists that we had planned to release for you this spring, and they are taking more time to create than originally anticipated. We are very sorry for the delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can,” said Rockstar. “Stay tuned for more information on that as well as lots of other ongoing content updates, enhancements and additions to the world of GTA Online that are on the way.”
Now we know that GTA V is coming to the PS4, Xbox One and PC this Autumn, is this the main reason why it is taking this long for Heists to show up in Online, more importantly, does anyone really care if they are coming to the next gen consoles? Well until then Rockstar has released Grand Theft Auto Online‘s “post ironic, artisanal, organic, entirely independent, 100% re-claimed” update, “I’m Not a Hipster,” which is now available with new jobs, hipster-themed content and gameplay fixes.
Players can now purchase skinny jeans, new retro print tees, tattoos, hairstyles and more, along with seven new vehicles. The update also adds the Vintage Pistol and Antique Cavalry Dagger for those with a soft spot for the past. GTA Online‘s jobs have been updated to include races such as “Before It Was Cool,” “Caffeine Rush,” “Trend Setting” and “Hip to be Cool.”
Other updates to the game include general tweaks to vehicles, paint colors and interface options. Check out the full list on Rockstar’s website.
The “I’m Not a Hipster” weekend event, which includes special bonuses and contests, will take place June 20 – 22.
