Today, Square Enix has announced that Parisian studio Dontnod Entertainment next effort is called Life is Strange, an episodic adventure game in which the two lead characters are trying to solve a mysterious disappearance.
Life is Strange takes place in the fictional town of Arcadia Bay, Oregon, where a student named Max Caulfield and her friend Chloe are looking into the disappearance of fellow student Rachel Amber. Max, who is returning to Arcadia Bay for the first time in five years, finds out early in Life is Strange that she has the ability to rewind time — a power that can change the player’s story. According to Dontnod, “choice and consequence play a key role in how the narrative unfolds.”
“Everybody at Dontnod is excited to be working on such a refreshing title,” said Jean-Max Moris, creative director at the studio, in a press release today. “We’re not only crafting the best game we possibly can, we also feel we’re providing the type of experience that perfectly fits today’s renewed taste for originality and diversity.”
Now you maybe wondering who Dontnod is, well there top titled game was the 2013 action title Remember Me, which was published by Capcom.
Life is Strange is in development on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Square Enix did not provide any release window for the game.
