Hello Fellow Cravers. It’s time to get updated on the weeks news, UK charts and game releases this week.

3) Dead or Alive 5: Last round coming to PS4 and Xbox One

A surprise announcement at this weekend’s Japan Gamer’s Live event revealed Dead or Alive 5: Last Round will launch in spring 2015 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, in Japan.

There’s no word on any Western release, nor additional details on the game itself other than the teaser trailer bellow.

The last full release in the series was Dead or Alive 5, which launched worldwide in September 2012. Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, an update to the game, launched a year later.

2) Twitch Plays Pokemon reached a total of over a billion minutes viewed

Back in February, thousands of Twitch users came together to watch and play a game of Pokémon by inputting game commands via the live video streaming service’s chat box.

The crowd-sourced massively multiplayer online co-op version of Pokémon Red/Blue for Game Boy was an online phenomenon, drawing thousands of viewers within a day of its launch. Today at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle, researcher and data scientist Alex Leavitt released numbers that revealed just how popular it was.

.At its peak, Twitch Plays Pokémon had 121,000 concurrent viewers

.At some points during Twitch Plays Pokémon, the stream was the most-viewed on the platform, and accounted for 20 percent of all viewers on Twitch

.The stream received a total of nine million unique views.

.The stream received more than 36 million unique views

.The total view time on the stream was more than one billion minutes

.More than 50 million messages were sent in the stream’s chat box

1) Nintendo reveal new 3DS

Nintendo revealed its New Nintendo 3DS system, an upcoming version of the 3DS hardware that features a second stick built in, in addition to new shoulder buttons.

The new system was confirmed this week during the Japanese Nintendo Direct. The New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS LL (Japanese name for the XL) feature a smaller analog “nub” above the A, B, X and Y buttons. Likewise, existing buttons have been colored to match the old-school SNES controller. The hardware will also arrive with new shoulder buttons which will be situated next to the existing ZL and ZR buttons.

Additionally, the system will features a better CPU than previous models, according to Nintendo, which allows for faster eShop browsing and downloading. The New Nintendo 3DS’ more powerful internals will be used for at least one game, Xenoblade Chronicles, which is being developed exclusively for the updated hardware.

It is also set to come with a built-in NFC on the bottom touchscreen for the upcoming launch of the amiibo NFC figures, while sliding custom covers will also come with the device, allowing owners to customize the hardware. Nintendo also claims that stereoscopic 3D will also be better than it was in previous devices.

Both models are scheduled to launch in Japan on October 11th, however, the company has already confirmed no New Nintendo 3DS system will launch for North America or Europe this calendar year.

Deep Silver/Koch Media celebrate their first No1 of the year (and first since Saints Row IV took 4 weeks at No1 in 2013) thanks to 4A Games’ Metro Redux, bringing together definitive next-gen iterations of Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Activision’s Diablo III Reaper of Souls Ultimate Evil Edition drops to No2 and Sony’s The Last of Us: Remastered drops one place to No3. Also down one place is EA’s Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare at No4 whilst Activision hold steady at No5 with Call of Duty: Ghosts. The only other new entry within the Top 10 is EA’s Madden NFL 15 debuting at No6, one place higher than the debut postion of last year’s Madden NFL 25.
