Xbox Avatars coming to Windows 10?

Xbox users participating in the Windows 10 beta can modify their avatars with a dedicated app for Windows 10.

Microsoft’s free Avatar app, which you can see in the Microsoft Store, is available in the Windows 10 Technical Preview. The app, which isn’t yet fully functional, lets users “change your Xbox avatar, or start fresh with a brand new one.” According to a tweet from Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, there will be “more to share later this week.”

A multiplatform, browser-based avatar editor is also available on the official Xbox website.

Joining the Avatar app in Windows 10 is an official Xbox app. Xbox head Phil Spencer confirmed its existence during a January event. The Xbox app will allow users to communicate though Xbox Live across platforms, grant access to achievements and game clips and browse their friends lists.

Microsoft revealed Windows 10, which is slated for a summer 2015 release, last September.
