As we start getting deeper into the lifespan of the current generation of consoles, it is no surprise that developers will decide to turn their complete focus in developing games for that generation only, leaving those not able to upgrade to a PS4 and/or Xbox One yet, left neglected. Well it seems that Ubisoft are going to be the first bigger publisher to drop last gen console support, except for its popular rhythm game Just Dance.
Ubisoft confirmed the news last night during a financial call with investors, where they explained the reason behind the decision is so that the company can focus on the current generation of consoles and PC.
Recent releases such as Far Cry 4, The Crew and Rayman Legends came to both last-gen and current-gen consoles, along with a standalone Assassin’s Creed game, Assassin’s Creed: Rogue.
This comes after the news of the next Assassin’s Creed game being revealed as Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, which will release exclusively on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. You can find out more about the reveal here.
