The Update for week ending 15th June 2015

Hello Fellow Cravers. I am GD and I am here with this weeks top 3 gaming news stories outside of E3, the top 5 games, new releases and a recap of YouTube of the week with the Update!

3) Tearaway Unfolded coming September 11th

Tearaway Unfolded, an expanded version of the original PlayStation Vita game, will launch for PlayStation 4 on Sept. 11, Media Molecule announced this week on the PlayStation Blog.

The game will be available for £34.99. Those who pre-order it will get the limited Crafted Edition, which grants players the soundtrack, in-game costumes, a Gold Leaf and more. Players will also get eight custom decorations from games such as No Man’s Sky, The Order: 1886 and The Last of Us.

2) YouTube creating dedicated game content app coming this summer

YouTube is creating a new app and website to host gaming content.

Called YouTube Gaming, the hub will have separate channels for more than 25,000 games, each with videos and live streams. It’s coming this summer.

The full list of supported games hasn’t been released, but provided art confirms some of the more obvious candidates: Minecraft, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, League of Legends, Grand Theft Auto 5, The Sims 4, and Destiny.

Some game publishers and YouTube creators will have dedicated channels as well.

“Live streams bring the gaming community closer together, so we’ve put them front-and-center on the YouTube Gaming homepage,” said YouTube Product Manager Alan Joyce. “On top of existing features like high frame rate streaming at 60fps, DVR, and automatically converting your stream into a YouTube video, we’re redesigning our system so that you no longer need to schedule a live event ahead of time.”

YouTube Gaming is coming first to the U.S. and U.K.

1) Driveclub PS+ Edition is still coming

Driveclub game director Paul Rustchynsky has confirmed via Twitter that Driveclub’s long-awaited PS+ Edition is nearing completion.

Pressed for information regarding when PS+ members could expect to be able to play the free version of Driveclub, Rustchynsky replied, “We’re in the final stages of development now.”

Late last month Driveclub developer Evolution announced a “significant server upgrade” for Driveclub, which occurred on June 1. The process was carried out to improve server performance across the game as the team continued work on making the PS+ Edition of Driveclub possible.

Driveclub was launched in October, 2014 but was hit hard by severe server issues, forcing Sony and Evolution to postpone the promised free version of the game for PS+ members.

Bethesda Softworks take top spot as The Elder Scrolls Online becomes their first chart topping title since Wolfenstein: The New Order just over a year ago.  Although the original PC version of the title launched in April last year, the new updated versions feature a subscription free model as well as several new updates. Having launched on Tuesday The Elder Scrolls Online is the third title to break through the 100k sales mark in its first week in 2015, delivering a bigger week 1 then Battlefield Hardline but still behind The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, which remains the biggest debut of the year so far.  Following on from the success of the movie which also released this week Warner Bros’ Lego Jurassic World roars into the chart at No2. With The Elder Scrolls Online taking No1 the consecutive five week run of Bandai Namco is ended as The Witcher III: Wild Hunt drops down to No3. Another title making the jump to current gen consoles debuts at No4 with 505 Games’ Payday 2: Crimewave Edition for Xbox One and PS4.  The original Payday 2 topped the charts back in August 2013 and the Crimewave Edition adds improved visuals and new content to the title.  Grand Theft Auto V is not far behind but makes way for the new titles dropping down to No5.  FIFA 15 is at No6 and remains comfortably ahead of a resurgent Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which climbs to No7.  Wii U exclusive Splatoon is down to No8 in its third week on chart although is sure to see a boost with an official hardware bundle due to launch on the platform next week. Battlefield Hardline is down four places to No9 and Farming Simulator 15 rounds off the Top 10.

Down 3 to No.5:     GRAND THEFT AUTO V

New at No.4:          PAYDAY 2: CRIMEWAVE EDITION

New at No.2:         LEGO JURASSIC WORLD

Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley (3DS)
