NEWS

3) You can finally watch Twitch on PS4!!

Streaming to Twitch has been built into PlayStation 4 since the platform launched in 2013, but one thing has always been missing: The ability to tune in and watch any stream on Twitch, including non-PlayStation streams. During its TwitchCon keynote, Twitch revealed that this will finally be changing.

A new Twitch viewing app will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita this fall, Twitch CEO Emmett Shear announced. People on those devices will be able to watch any stream on the service, including non-PlayStation streams, with full chat support.

Previously, desperate PlayStation 4 owners have been able to watch Twitch streams via the console’s browser, but this will be the first time the system has a dedicated Twitch viewing app.

This was the first in a series of announcements about upgrades to Twitch’s service, including improved whispers, a full switch from Flash to HTML5 and a new playlist system that will rotate through archived videos when channels are offline. The company also revealed that it will soon begin allowing users to upload pre-edited video to their Twitch channels for the first time ever.

2)Bioshock Collection coming to PS4 and Xbox One?

A collection of the games in the BioShock series might be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, according to a listing from a South African retailer.

The page, which has since been removed, reveals a release date of Nov. 27 for The BioShock Collection. Aside from that and the available platforms, no further details are disclosed.

This is not the first time that Raru, the store which leaked the possible compilation, has leaked the release dates for new gaming items. In July, the retailer listed the Mewtwo amiibo for an Oct. 23 release. Nintendo later confirmed the date for European customers. Nintendo fans in the U.S. can buy the Mewtwo amiibo on Nov. 13.

The most recent BioShock title was for the PlayStation 3, Windows PC and Xbox 360.

BioShock Infinite was also featured at this year’s Summer Games Done Quick, a speedrun marathon for charity. At the event, player FearfulFerret challenged his own world-record title for fastest run through the game. He just missed the mark, completing the game in under two hours.

1) Hitman delayed to March 2016

Io Interactive’s latest Hitman game is now scheduled to launch next year, the developer announced this week. Io Interactive is now aiming for March 2016 for the “initial release” of the new Hitman, which was previously scheduled for a December launch.

“These few extra months will mean we can add more to the launch content of the game, more than we had originally planned, and then follow with a tighter frequency of updates, which ultimately will create a better game for everyone,” Io Interactive wrote on the game’s official website.

Hitman will first ship with a “good chunk of the game,” which Io Interactive plans to add to over the course of weeks and months with new locations and additional content. Io said it will detail the “full release schedule and scope” of Hitman soon.

UK GAME CHARTS

Thursday is the new Friday for EA and so FIFA 16 launched on 24th Sep, shooting straight to No1 as expected. In terms of unit sell-through this is down around 7% over last year’s FIFA 15 week 1, though revenue is only down 4% thanks to the concentration of sales towards Xbox One/ PS4 versions and Deluxe/Ultimate Team SKU’s. It’s a measure of how fast things change when you consider that last year Xbox 360/PS3 versions of FIFA 15 accounted for 45% of week 1 units – compared to just 19% this year. Last week’s Top 1-2-3 of new releases all make way, with the previous No1 Destiny: The Taken King from Activision Blizzard dropping to No2, Microsoft’s Forza Motorsport 6 dropping one place to No3 and Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 down 3 places to No6. This week sees the launch of the 2nd toys-to-life refresh (after Disney Infinity 3 last month) and it is Activision Blizzard’s Skylanders Superchargers racing in at No4 which is 3 positions higher than last year’s Trap Team week 1. Skylanders Superchargers is the 5th in the Skylanders series and the starter packs launch with a range of characters/vehicles. The final new release within the Top 20 is Focus/Koch’s Warhammer/American Football Blood Bowl II for PS4/Xbox One debuting at No15.

Down 1 to No.5:                   METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

New at No.4:                          SKYLANDERS SUPERCHARGERS

Down 1 to No.3:                   FORZA MOTORSPORT 6

Down 1 to No.2:                   DESTINY: THE TAKEN KING

New at No.1:                          FIFA 16
