Hello Fellow Cravers. I am GD and I am here with this weeks top 3 gaming news stories, the top 5 games, new releases and a recap of YouTube of the week with the Update!
3)Telltale’s Game of Thrones getting 2nd season
Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series will continue with a second season, and it’s already in development, Telltale confirmed today to The Hollywood Reporter.
“When we initially announced the series in 2013, we let everyone know this would be a multi-title, multiyear partnership with HBO,” said Kevin Bruner, co-founder and CEO of Telltale Games, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “After this week’s finale, I’m pleased to officially confirm that there will be a second season of Telltale’s Game of Thrones series and that it’s currently in development.”
Bruner added that a second season was in Telltale’s plans from the get-go. The news will come as no surprise to anybody who has played “The Ice Dragon,” the first season’s finale, which was released earlier this week. The episode is heavy on cliffhangers, leaving many questions unresolved.
Asked about the fates of the members of House Forrester, Bruner said that “there is a larger story to be played out” and that — as ever in Telltale’s projects — “the choices players make in season one set the stage for what’s to come.” He added that Telltale will continue the series’ multi-character storytelling in season two. Bruner gave no timing window for the debut of the second season.
2)Deus Ex Delayed to August
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has been delayed. Originally slated for a Feb. 23 release, the game will now hit shelves exactly six months later on Aug. 23.
An update to the series’ official website has the news, although the site is currently down. The announcement from developer Eidos-Montreal’s head of studio David Anfossi suggested that fine-tuning was the cause for the postponement.
“As we are now playing through the game in full,” Anfossi wrote, “we can see that it will require more time in post-production for tuning, iterations and refinement to meet our high standards.”
This is the second game originally meant to launch on Feb. 23 that has been pushed out of the slot. was the first of three games sharing the day to be delayed. That game will now be available May 24.
is the only title of the original three to still be scheduled for a Feb. 23 release.
When announcing the follow-up to ‘s original release date, publisher Square Enix also threw in a controversial Kickstarter-esque pre-order campaign. The “Augment Your Pre-Order” event, which required customers to commit to purchasing the game in advance in order to bump up its release, was later dropped following criticism.
The game was first announced at E3 2015.
1) Sony is working on bring PS2 games to PS4
PlayStation 2 games are playable on PlayStation 4 thanks to emulation, and Sony has confirmed plans to tap into the technology to bring classic games to its latest console.
“We are working on utilizing PS2 emulation technology to bring PS2 games forward to the current generation,” a representative for Sony Computer Entertainment of America said in a statement to Polygon.
There’s no timetable on when these games will start to appear on the PS4, nor which games will make the cut. A few PS2 games were re-rated for a modern release by the PEGI Ratings Board in Europe back in September, which could be an early indication of what’s to come.
Sony also teased the introduction of PS2 (and PS1) classics to PS4 in a survey sent around to a select group of gamers last month.
Gamers first discovered that PS2 games are playable on PS4 thanks to the older Star Wars games bundled with deluxe editions of which launched on Tuesday. Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, and Star Wars: Bounty Hunter were not simply ported over, players discovered, but are in fact emulations which recognize the current console as identical to their older, native system.
The confirmation seemingly contradicts Sony’s earlier statements regarding backward compatibility on PS4. Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida previously stated that the company had no plans to support backward compatibility. The reversal leaves things unclear as to what Sony’s further plans are with regards to PS2 emulation.
The feature could be reserved for specific instances, like Star Wars Battlefront, or enabled so your old PS2 discs are supported natively by the console, similar to last week’s Xbox One update that added Xbox 360 compatibility.
Currently, you can access your old PS3 games through the streaming PlayStation Now service.
