The Update for week ending 21st August

Hello Fellow Cravers. I am GD, we are back with the top 3 gaming news stories of the week that isn’t Pokemon Go , we have Top 5 games of the week, new releases and a recap of YouTube of the week with the Update!

3)Steep arrives this December

Ubisoft will release its open world winter sports game on Dec. 2, the company announced this week. The PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One title is set to allow aspiring skiers, snowboarders and paragliders take to the Alps just in time for winter, with the landscape to expand further following launch.

Alaskan slopes will be added to the game as part of a free update, Ubisoft said in a press release. A season pass, included with the game’s Gold Edition, will bring further content to the game later on. The Gold Edition of Steep, retailing for $79.99, also adds extra challenges, outfits, “glowing equipment” and some wingsuit flare. The season pass will also be sold separately, although Ubisoft hasn’t announced pricing.

A Steep beta will be offered to all players sometime later this year. Registration is now open on the game’s website.

2)Capy Games’ Below delayed indefinitely

developer Capybara Games has pushed back the release of the roguelike-like dungeon-crawler, this time for an unspecified amount of time, the studio announced this week.

Capy said in March that it planned to release Below this summer. However, the company has said that although “our team worked hard to make that a reality,” the studio “decided [the game] isn’t ready.”

“We knew the game was there, and we’re super proud of it, but we also knew it needed more time to make sure it lives up to our studio’s standards, and the quality that you expect from our games,” Capy wrote in a blog post, describing Below as the studio’s “most ambitious undertaking.”

Instead of providing a new estimate for Below’s launch window, Capy is “going dark” while it finishes the game. The next major update will come when the company is ready to announce a “firm release date,” the studio said.

Microsoft originally unveiled Below more than three years ago, during the company’s E3 2013 press briefing. At the time, Capy said the game was in development exclusively on Xbox One. The studio later confirmed that it was a timed exclusive on consoles — like the company’s prior game, — and eventually announced a Windows PC version. Following a delay out of its previously announced 2015 release window, Below was scheduled to arrive this summer on both PC and Xbox One.

1)Assassin’s Creed Ezio Collection rated for PS4 and Xbox One

A pair of ratings for the Assassin’s Creed Ezio Collection may indicate that Ubisoft’s action-adventure games starring Ezio Auditore da Firenze are coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The ratings were recently posted to Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee and spotted by NeoGAF. While the ratings don’t have much in the way of specifics, an Ezio Collection could potentially include games such as Assassin’s Creed 2, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. Those three titles all featured Ezio as a primary character and were released for PlayStation 3, Windows PC and Xbox 360. Ezio also starred in Assassin’s Creed 2: Discovery, a Nintendo DS and iOS game.

Ubisoft doesn’t have a mainline entry in its Assassin’s Creed series planned for this year but it does have a movie based on the property starring Michael Fassbender scheduled to hit theaters this December.

F1 2016 launches straight into pole position replacing No Man’s Sky at No1. Launching 5 weeks later than its predecessor, sales are down 32% on F1 2015.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens climbs up a place to No3 with promotions helping to give it a boost. There is little change in the Top 10 with a host of new releases not due out until next week. However outside the Top 10 the most notable climber is EA’s Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, which leaps back into the Top 40 at No27.
