Hello Fellow Cravers. I am GD, we are here with the top 3 gaming news stories of the last week, we have Top 5 games of the week, new releases for the next week and a recap of YouTube of the week with the Update!
3)Fallout Shelter coming to xbox this tuesday
Fallout Shelter, Bethesda Softworks’ mobile management sim, will come to Windows 10 and Xbox One on Feb. 7. Microsoft also announced today that the free game is the newest arrival in the Xbox Play Anywhere program, which allows for cross-play and cross-buy.
Downloading Fallout Shelter on either Xbox One or Windows 10 will allow players to carry over their saves from one platform to the other. That’s unique to this version of the game, which also marks the first time it’s playable on console.
This may be Fallout Shelter’s Windows 10 debut, but the game’s been available on Windows PC since last July. That version of the game is available exclusively through the Bethesda.net launcher. Players also can transfer over their saves to the PC version from the Android version of the game, although that’s not natively supported through Fallout Shelter on PC itself.
Bethesda continues to support Fallout Shelter, a game it released during E3 2015. The iOS and Android versions were hugely popular upon release, with players spending more than 29 million hours collectively within its first month on the market.
2)Timesplitters Rewind is coming this year, leaves us confused
The team behind Timesplitters Rewind, an unofficial, multiplayer-focused remake of the classic Free Radical/Crytek shooter, released the game’s very first teaser trailer over the weekend. While its 2:27 runtime may suggest that there’s a lot for eager fans to pore over here, the actual video offers strangely little in the way of content.
Seriously: Watch above to see what we mean. Absent are any character or weapon models; instead, the trailer shows a screensaver-esque array of green crystals until fading into the Timesplitters Rewind logo.
The good news for the Timesplitters community, which has kept an eye on the Rewind project since 2013, is that the game’s release date has been pushed up from 2018 to 2017.
Developed by fan collective Cinder Interactive Arts, Timesplitters Rewind is slated for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, although other platforms may be announced later on. Those who’d like to take a peek at actual assets from the game can check out its blog, which was last updated in September 2016.
1)Bioware’s next new series coming by March 2018
A new, original intellectual property from BioWare will launch by the end of this fiscal year, Electronic Arts announced on a conference call for investors. The action title is expected by March 31, 2018, when the company’s 2017 fiscal year ends.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson teased details about the game, which is being worked on by members of the Mass Effect franchise. The game will have an online component of some kind, encouraging players to interact in a completely new setting.
“It’s an action-adventure, not RPG,” Wilson added during the Q&A portion of the call. That’s a change of pace for BioWare, which is best known for its role-playing game franchises.
Studio fans can still expect to see “the great RPG character development and story progression that BioWare is known for,” Wilson continued.
That’s about all we know about the BioWare game, however. BioWare vice president Aaryn Flynn included further details in a blog post on the studio’s website following the call.
“In 2012, we began crafting a new universe full of new characters, stories, and gameplay,” Flynn wrote. “Our ambition is simple: Draw upon 20+ years of development knowledge and lessons to create something fun and new for you to enjoy with your friends.”
More details are coming in the future, Flynn added.
BioWare fans can expect a game from the studio much sooner. The next installment in the studio’s hugely popular space opera franchise, Mass Effect: Andromeda, launches March 21.
UK GAME CHARTS
Resident Evil VII: Biohazard lives on at No1 for a second week. It will have to last another week at No1 if it wants to match the franchise’s longest run at the top (Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 5 both hung on for three weeks).
Grand Theft Auto V is a non-mover at No2 while FIFA 17 climbs one place to No3, meaning new entry Hitman: The Complete First Season released on Tuesday, has to settle for a debut at No4. It originally charted as a premium boxed digital collector’s edition just under a year ago, when it reached No29.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare doesn’t move from its position at No5 despite sales climbing 4% in the wake of the release on Tuesday of its first DLC pack Sabotage. Also staying put is Rocket League at No6 and Battlefield 1 at No7. Square-Enix now have 2 games in the Top 10 as Final Fantasy XV re-enters, up from No15 to No8 after a continued price promotion.
The Top 10 is rounded off by 2K/Take 2’s WWE 2K17 and Mafia III both creeping back in, up from No12 to No9 and No11 to No10 respectively – giving the publisher three Top 10 games this week. The only other new entry to break in to Top 40 is Nintendo’s 3DS title Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World at No20.
