The Update for Week ending 9th April 2017

Hello Fellow Cravers. I am GD,sorry we are running late this week, but here we are with the top 3 gaming news stories of the last week, we have Top 5 games of the week, new releases for the next week and a recap of YouTube of the week with the Update!

3)Marshadow coming soon to Pokémon Sun and Moon

The next mythical Pokemon, Marshadow, has been known since November, when Pokémon Sun and Moon’s Z-moves were revealed. This new teaser video means Marshadow will finally be available soon.

Dataminers pulled out Marshadow’s vitals long ago, though the creature has only now been formally announced. It’s one of seven Generation 7 legendary and mythical Pokémon. Bulbapedia lists Marshadow as a fighting/ghost type.

The last one, Magearna, was made available to players through a QR code in December. Marshadow may be offered in the same way. Indeed, a news release touting Marshadow’s appearance said it cannot be captured in normal gameplay.

Below, Marshadow appears in the latest trailer for the next Pokémon movie, I Choose You!, due to launch in Japan in mid-July.

2) Is Bayonetta coming to Steam?

Sega’s got a mysterious countdown clock running, and whatever it’s ticking down to, it seems like it has something to do with Bayonetta.

It was first noticed Last weekend, when the publisher launched Bayonetta-themed April Fools’ Day joke on Steam. Included with the platform’s free-to-play, 8-bit Bayonetta parody were two achievements that hid a special URL. Going to that page opens up a barebones site with just the timer — and a very, very faint image of the character’s foot in the background.

Fans on Reddit later noted that the image comes from a trailer for the first Bayonetta game, and it was also seen on the collector’s edition box art. Since the teaser comes straight off Steam, it’s easy to put two and two together and guess that Bayonetta is heading to PC at some point, but that’s up to speculation for now.

The countdown is set to go off at 4PM on April 11. Big fans of the Sega and PlatinumGames series should mark that date on their calendars — it could be Bayonetta’s first big appearance since she joined the Super Smash Bros. fray as downloadable content last year.

1)Agents of Mayhem coming August 15th

Agents of Mayhem is Saints Row developer Volition’s new spin on the open-world action genre. Unveiled last year just before E3, it surprised a lot of fans who expected the developer to jump right into Saints Row 5. Instead, the studio had created a new concept where players can swap between multiple characters with unique weapons and abilities on the fly during missions.

Whether you’re a skeptical fan or a hopeful one, you won’t need to wait too much longer to find out if Volition has delivered on its new, multi-character premise. Publisher Deep Silver revealed at an event last week that Agents of Mayhem will launch on Aug. 15. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PCs.

Launched on Tuesday on PS4 and PS3 and receiving glowing reviews, Persona 5 from Atlus/Deep Silver debuts at No1. It is the first J-RPG (Japanese RPG) to debut at the top of the Chart since Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch back in 2013 (Final Fantasy XV launched at No2, but it had to contend with FIFA 17). It is by far the biggest launch for a Persona title and the first ever No1 for developer and publisher Atlus.

Mass Effect: Andromeda slips down to No5 after two weeks at the top, while Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Lego Worlds both hold on to No’s 2 and 3 respectively. Originally released on Wii U back in 2013 when it debuted at No12, Lego City Undercover comes to PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, pushing it back in to the chart at No8 and giving publisher Warner Bros. two Lego games in the Top 10 and four in the Top 40.

Retailer promotions give boosts to Overwatch up from No14 to No10 and WWE 2K17 up from No19 to No13. The only other new titles to make the Top 40 are Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition from Gearbox Publishing/Maximum Games at No23 and Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits at No36. Sister title Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls fails to make the Top 40.
